Dustin Kensrue Enters the Studio to Record New Solo Album
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Dustin Kensrue has entered the studio and is currently recording the long anticipated follow-up to his 2007 solo debut, Please Come Home. The new album is expected to be released next spring on Staple Records/Vagrant Records. Kensrue, known for his dynamic solo performances and as frontman for Southern California rock band Thrice, is engineering and producing the record on his own.
“Recording right now is for me the end of a long distilling process,” said Kensrue. “I always have bits and pieces of songs that are bouncing around in my head. I usually record them and listen back later, and most of the time I can’t remember why I even bothered to record them in the first place. But then there are the tunes that stick – the ones I find running over and over through my head, demanding to be finished. Begging for a home. The most persistent of these tunes from the past 8 years are what I’m busy recording right now, and there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.”
On November 26th, Kensrue will be performing at the 5th annual Thanksgiving concert, The Stuffing, in Atlanta, Georgia with Manchester Orchestra and O’Brother and more. Following that, the 2014 edition of the ‘Where’s The Band?’ tour will kick off in mid-December. All dates and ticket links can be found HERE.
Kensrue has also recently been confirmed to perform at the 2015 South By Southwest Music and Media Festival in Austin, Texas next March.
Bad Suns Premiere Powerful Video for "Salt" via MTV
Bad Suns are beyond pleased to share the powerful new video for their single "Salt," which was inspired by conversations between front-man Christo and a close friend experiencing gender dysphoria. Directed by award winning dancer, Daniel ‘Cloud’ Campos (appeared in Step Up 3D, The Uprising Begins and also directed Panic! At the Disco’s ‘This is Gospel’ and Paramore’s ‘Now’), the video uses powerful imagery and choreographed dance sequences to portray a transgender individual’s struggles with body image and identity and the journey through transition.
"As a band, our mission is to create art that evokes emotion. ‘Salt’ was written to universalize the idea of feeling trapped in the wrong body. As a band that had been fairly reserved in the past, we aim to make a statement with this music video. It is about the journey towards fulfillment and acceptance of oneself," says Christo. Watch the video and read the accompanying interview via MTV.
"Salt" appears on Bad Suns’ debut LP, Language & Perspective, which was released in June and available on iTunes. The band is currently on tour in the US in support of the release. A full list of tour dates can be found HERE.

WATERS Premiere New Video for "I Feel Everything"
WATERS is excited to share the fantastically grimy new video for their single "I Feel Everything"! "The video was shot at the Pink Motel, which is on the outskirts of LA and is a living artifact from the '50s," says frontman Van Pierszalowski. "It reflects the perfect combination of lost romance, grim present, and slightly hopeful coloring that the song is about. I'm tired of music videos with rock bands featuring smiling happy people with nice perfect haircuts. I wanted this video to be uncomfortable, and for the viewer to be filled with emotions, both positive and negative, because that is what the song is about." Check out the premiere via Billboard or watch below.
WATERS kick off their west coast tour with Tegan & Sara today. Starting at The Paramount tonight in Seattle, the band hits every major market along the coast, wrapping up in Los Angeles at The Palladium before a one off show on Nov 21st with Cold War Kids in Oakland. All upcoming tour dates can be found HERE.

Christian Letts Announces Solo Project “Letts”, Debut Album to be Released February 17
London-born Christian Letts returned to his native countryside to record his first LP, Hold Fast, with his friend and collaborator Marcus Mumford who produced the record. Hold Fast will be released on February 17, 2015, on Community Music/Vagrant Records. Other friends from their respective bands (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Mumford and Sons) joined them at the farm, where, over the course of two consecutive Januaries, they crafted the ten tracks that comprise Hold Fast. The release will coincide with a series of art exhibits of Letts’ paintings and watercolors throughout the United States and Europe. For the full album track-listing, see below.
His first offering from Hold Fast, “Charles de Gaulle” is a love story about beginnings in unexpected places. A chance encounter in the Paris airport, where two lives “became a swirl.” Listen to the track below.
Letts is a songwriter, singer, painter and sculptor. Across all mediums there is a common theme of overcoming darkness. The sea, the sky, the countryside, the people within and their strengths, weaknesses, successes and failures. Spirits and guardian angels, recurring dreams, the unseen forces that silently sway. He explores himself alongside and within these elements on Hold Fast.
Hold Fast Track Listing:
01. The Keeper
02. Charles de Gaulle
03. The Oath
04. Boxing Day
05. Copper Bells
06. La Mer
08. Skipping Stones
09. Twenty Seven Arrows
