Benjamin Francis Leftwich's New Album After The Rain Out Now

Today, Benjamin Francis Leftwich releases his second album After The Rain! In the lead up to the release Leftwich has shared a track a week across all streaming platforms with the final two tracks “Frozen Moor” and “Just As I Was Waking Up” revealed today, completing the album.

To celebrate the release of the album Leftwich is playing a series on free, acoustic in-stores around the UK, starting today in London. He will then head out on a second run of headline dates following the success of his Spring / Summer tour. Starting in September this extensive tour takes in the UK, Europe and the US with tickets on sale now.

Following the release of his 2011 acclaimed debut album Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm, a record which has gone on to sell over 100,000 copies worldwide and had over 150 million global Spotify plays, Leftwich’s life was thrown into an unexpected path when he went through one of the hardest things in life, the loss of a parent and his number one source of inspiration, his father.

Coming at the peak of Ben’s success and stuck between tours and caring for his father, Ben invited producers to his hometown in an attempt to work on new material, to muted results. “I just knew that I needed to not do this for a while,” he admits of his mental state following his father’s passing. “For me, I just needed to live outside of music.”

Now, 5 years after the release of his debut album, Leftwich returned earlier this year with the news of the Charlie Andrew (Alt-J, Money) produced new album. Written during those months which saw him at his lowest, the record is a creation that exists between light and dark; one that is delicate yet grand, melancholic yet optimistic, whilst remaining utterly timeless.

Balance and Composure Premieres New Video for "Postcard" via Pitchfork

Balance and Composure have released a new video for "Postcard," the first single from their third album, Light We Made (out October 7th). The video was directed by Jason Michael Roberts who created an interesting visual concept utilizing special effects, which he explains:

"Working with Balance and Composure was an amazing experience. They had a pretty broad idea for 'Postcard,' but I want the audience to feel like tourists on a hallucinogenic, safari floating ride from room-to-room in an surreal world, observing the exotic imagery."

Light We Made, which was produced by Will Yip (Nothing, Pity Sex), marks a celebration of growth for the band, with a new ebb and flow sound dominated by soothing, harmonic tracks, which complements their previous body of work.

Balance and Composure will bring their live set on the road this fall for a North American headline tour, plus will make an appearance at this year's Riot Fest in Chicago, and will open for Hum on September 24th in Pomona, CA. All tour dates listed HERE.

Death Spells Release Nothing Above, Nothing Below

Today, Death Spells release their debut album, Nothing Above, Nothing Below. The album was recorded and produced by James Dewees and Frank Iero and is available now at digital retail outlets, including iTunes and Amazon. The album is also available to stream on Spotify.

“Death Spells is very different from anything we have done in the past collectively,” says Dewees. “It's noisy, it's angry, it's beauty, it's the monster you don't want to look at yet can't look away.”

“This Death Spells record has been something I've wanted for 4 years,” said Iero. “The initial band started back in 2012 in an apartment in North Hollywood California, and because life sometimes gets in the way it has taken a back seat to other projects James and I have been working on. But I knew I could not go any further until these songs were revealed, and now death spells' time has finally come.”

Beginning Tuesday, August 9, Death Spells will be performing six headline shows across the globe in just eight days. Tickets are on sale now for all dates, including a newly added New Jersey show on August 18 and both Denver and Chicago Riot Fest dates.

Balance and Composure Sign to Vagrant, Announce New Album Light We Made

We’re stoked to welcome Balance and Composure to the Vagrant family. Today the band has announced their third album, Light We Made, will be released on October 7th. Fans who pre-order the album now will instantly receive the project's lead track "Postcard". Special pre-order bundles of Light We Made will also launch today (July 25th) at 3pm ET with multiple limited-edition color variations of the LP artwork and merch.

Light We Made, which was produced by Will Yip (Nothing, Pity Sex), marks a milestone for the band, as this time around they've toned down their hardcore and punk-rock roots, to present a body of work that is dominated by soothing, harmonic tracks. The LP's coherent mood of transcendent moments are driven by the band experimenting with new sonic elements - weaving in dreamy synth chords, melodic guitar riffs, and atmospheric bass grooves and drum beats to hit home the delivery of the songs' emotional lyrics.

"This album is the culmination of the last 3 years, and how musically the band wanted to be more creative than ever before. We took time off to experience life, pushing ourselves to try things that we previously hadn't, which in return inspired us to record something that would stand out. This LP is a sonic progression for us, and we're excited to share it with everyone."

In support of the new LP, Balance and Composure will bring their live set on the road this Fall for a North American headline tour, plus will make an appearance at this year's Riot Fest in Chicago, and will open for Hum on September 24th in Pomona, CA. Tickets for the Balance and Composure headline tour go on sale this Friday, July 29th. Head HERE for more information, and see all tour dates.

PJ Harvey Shares New Track "Guilty"

Today, PJ Harvey has released a new song titled “Guilty” which is taken from the sessions that produced her current album, The Hope Six Demolition Project. The sessions took place in January 2015 during Harvey's month long residency at London’s Somerset House--“Recording in Progress”—in which audiences were given the opportunity to see her at work with her band and producers in a purpose-built studio.

As previously reported, PJ Harvey will return to the U.S. next month for the first time since her tour for 2011’s acclaimed Let England Shake, playing two dates: August 16 at Terminal 5 in New York City and August 18 at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

PJ Harvey will play 17 headline dates across the UK and Europe later this year, including two shows at London’s Brixton Academy in October, followed by Glasgow, Manchester and Wolverhampton.

Following the April release of her UK #1 album The Hope Six Demolition Project, PJ Harvey returned to the world stage last month for the first time in 4 years, starting a summer of festival shows with an acclaimed headline performance at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound, ahead of headlining both London’s Field Day and Glastonbury Festival. Harvey is deservedly considered to be one of Britain’s most innovative and important recording artists, and NME recently called her“one of the world's finest performers - commanding, contemplative and absolutely flawless.”

Directed by renowned British theatre director Ian Rickson, dressed by Ann Demeulemeester, and with lighting by Adam Silverman and set design by multi-media artist Jeremy Herbert, the show is receiving fantastic reviews around the world. From the moment the 10 strong band march onto the stage playing their instruments, the audience is transported into a truly unique concert experience; powerful, enchanting, thought provoking, joyous, and beautifully crafted, filled with songs that are a reflection of our times. Harvey is joined by long-time collaborators John Parish, Mick Harvey, and Jean-Marc Butty, and friends Alain Johannes, Terry Edwards, James Johnston, Kenrick Rowe, Alessandro Stefana and Enrico Gabrielli.
