(OCTOBER 06, 2010) – ALEXISONFIRE will release a four-song EP titled DOG’S BLOOD on November 2 in the U.S. on Vagrant. Worldwide release will be on Dine Alone in both Canada (November 2) and Australia (November 5), on Roadrunner in Europe (November 1), Japan (November 1), and the U.K. (October 31). Co-produced by Alexisonfire and Jon Drew (F*cked Up, Tokyo Police Club, Quest For Fire, Arkells) the EP features three vocal tracks and one instrumental.
A term coined by vocalist George Pettit, Dog’s Blood features brand new songs from the Platinum and JUNO award-winning band. What began as a seemingly crazy riff turned into the inspiration for the EP, which includes tracks that run the gamut from indulgently heavy, to what Pettit describes as “atmospheric sounding.” “They’re completely different-sounding songs and would probably never make it onto a full-length record,” says Dallas Green.
The EP tracks have never been performed live with the exception of the title track, which the band recently debuted during their blazing performance at the CASBY Awards (Canadian Artists Selected By You) on September 30 (where they also took home the award for Favourite New Single for “The Northern”).
A limited run of 2000 vinyl records will be available in three different color variations: one color will be sold through the labels, one color via the band’s official online store, and one color will be sold on tour. Alexisonfire also recently released an iTunes Originals session on September 28, 2010.
Meanwhile, ALEXISONFIRE are gearing up for a highly anticipated headlining tour of Canada that kicks-off in Victoria on November 26 and wraps up in Toronto on December 16. This is their first major headlining tour across Canada since releasing OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS, the 4th album from Alexisonfire. OLD CROWS / YOUNG CARDINALS debuted at #2 on the Top 200 Soundscan Chart and is the 4th Gold Record for the quintet in Canada.
